Vince Zampella, renowned for co-creating the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has tragically died in a vehicle crash in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the video game company that he helped create.

The celebrated industry figure died after his automobile collided and caught fire on a motorway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday, according to.
