Former Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents outline the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- 17 counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
