AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that defies traditional predictions, the game developer has unveiled an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Disclosed
According to the authorized announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes reverberate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine sect.
The mission concentrates on "peculiar tests and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Changes
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Content
Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana together with several artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Content
This release also adds the game's latest complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic techniques: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
